My Bio
Hi! My parents started this journey with breeding Elkhounds before I was born. I always enjoyed playing with the puppies after they had time to bond with their moms. Eventually our breeding pairs aged out of having pups and my parents set aside their breeding endeavors to just enjoy the adults that were left. Once the few staple dogs whittled down to just Arthur left, we realized something had to change. We couldn’t go without an Elkhound on our farm, so we started looking for a new generation. We thought that if we were already getting new pups, we might as well set ourselves up for the breeding program again! This time with me at the lead. We have been raising our three pups since then!
Our property is not grand, but efficient and sufficient for both animals and humans alike. It is a farm, and my other love is horses, so I scoop a lot of poop – canine and equine. I don’t mind the work and feel rewarded with the love they each give back to me. I enjoy training both the horses and dogs to maintain/enhance their health and behaviors. With the Elkhound’s nature to maneuver big game, it works well to have them around our horses because they know how to stay out from under them. We are all one big family – animals and people together.
